Vessel Safety


The Vessel Safety Check is a complimentary check of your boat conducted by members of the Auxiliary.  The goal of the safety check is to make sure your vessel meets both state and federal requirements for safety.

Upon successful completion of the inspection a decal is awarded for you to display showing that your vessel has met the state and federal safety requirements.

Below is a list of some of items check during a vessel inspection:

Valid registration   Registration number properly displayed
Boating safety certificate   Validation decals proper displayed
Required lights Flame arrester (where required)   
Wearable PFDs Throwable flotation device 
Horn or whistle    Bell (where required)
Adequate bilge ventilation Approved fire extinguishers
Approved unexpired visual distress signals
